Re:  Lake-wide Launch of 'Candlewood Lake United' (CLU)

Thanks to your inputs and ideas and those of others, a new grassroots force will soon be revolutionizing how the Candlewood Lake community connects, communicates, and advances its agenda.  Join in and experience with us an exciting new way of learning about matters of current concern, of exchanging ideas, approaching Lake-oriented challenges, and importantly of acting to ensure the common good of those with the major vested interest in protecting Candlewood -- our Lake-area residents.

Attached is a press release that was just circulated to news outlets.  It announces the launch of Candlewood Lake United (CLU), an evolving grassroots force of concerned citizens focused on protecting the welfare of the Lake and, by extension, that of all Lake-area residents.  The communications medium will be Facebook as the most efficient and accepted method of network sharing.  We see this as a major advancement and key tool in informing and marshaling residents and users to confront the potential invasion by zebra mussels and similar threats down the road.  Here's a link to what's afoot:

To help accelerate awareness, acceptance, and involvement with CLU, we would urge you to do the following:
1 - Circulate this notice to Lake-area friends beyond the Isle (most Isle residents are on the CARE distribution list) and underscore its importance and potential

2 - Urge that they, in turn, share this email and link with their friends and acquaintances around the Lake to build site visits, momentum and engagement

3 - For those not yet on Facebook (FB), urge they sign-up by going to www.fb.com and completing their profile permitting access to the balance of the FB site (indeed if someone needed a good reason to sign-up, it's finally here and will warrant repeat visits to learn what's new in our unified efforts to address common Lake issues)

4 - Once signed-up, one needs to merely enter 'Candlewood Lake United' in the search bar on top, speeding access to  CLU's profile page; from then on, one can simply navigate the citations to learn about the #1 threat to Candlewood and how to counter it

5 - Importantly, then click on the 'Like' button at the top of the CLU page if you deem the concept and content valuable, prompting friends and others to the be drawn to Candlewood Lake United's page and giving us a count of engaged visitors

6 - Check the site periodically for updates to stay abreast of developments and what residents can do to help prevent a zebra mussel onslaught.

This is indeed a big deal and promises to revolutionize how we communicate and activate about all things Candlewood.  Consider it your source for Candlewood threat updates and related issues warranting your engagement.  So please join in welcoming CLU and helping to leverage it to common advantage.
